Lubber´s Quarters has a size of 125 ha (300 acre) and is a private owned island. It has tracts of sea-to-sea land available providing ample opportunity for investment and growth. Located between Marsh Harbor and Elbow Cay, approximately 2 miles (3 kilometers) south of Hopetown, it is 1 mile (1.600 meters) long and 1/2 mile (600 meters) wide.
Lubber´s Quarters is one of the least developed and most picturesque of all the Southern Abaco cays. Just a few boat-minutes south of the southern tip of Elbow Cay, right across from Tahiti Beach - 10 boat-minutes from Hope Town and 25 boat-minutes from Marsh Harbour. The island offers a limited selection of secluded and very comfortable vacation homes. Until mid-1999 it remained isolated from even the most basic of comforts like electricity. Now that Bahamas Electric has finally run undersea power lines to there, air-conditioned rentals have become a reality. For a true vacation hideaway a real "get-away-from-it-all", you won't find a better location than Lubbers Quarters. Over the past year it has seen the population grow by several dozen happy homeowners.
