place with historical importance, alley, interesting place
Officially this street is named for architect Giovanni Antonio Visgardi, designer of many major buildings in Munich, is adjacent to the Palais Preysing. For many years, it was unofficially known as "Drueckebergergasse". Adolph Hitler ordered everyone passing the nearby Feldherrnhalle to render the National Socialist salute at a monument erected to those killed there in the 1923 Beer Hall Putsch. Many avoided this requirement by using this route to bypass the monument.
