Dungdae (Lighthouse) Island is connected to the adjacent island of Somaedo by a small land bridge twice a day at low tide. The lighthouse was built in 1917 by the Japanese during the occupation. The height of the light is 91m/299ft above sea level and flashes a white light on a 13-second cycle. The light can be seen for 26 nautical miles/48 kilometers.
