The National University of Ireland, Maynooth (NUIM; Irish: Ollscoil na hÉireann, Má Nuad; Latin: Universitas Hiberniae Nationalis apud Manutium), was founded by the Universities Act, 1997 as a constituent university of the National University of Ireland. It is Ireland's second oldest university, having been formed from St Patrick's College, Maynooth, itself founded in 1795.

  • I go to college there. Originally a college for the monks and clergy. This was where they got trained. Now in later years they've opened it to regular students. Gladstone wanted to stop giving the college grants in the 1800's cos he was afraid the Catholics would take over!!!!! haha
