Au Sable Forks (population 1003 in 2000) is a hamlet in the Adirondack Mountains, located where the East and West Branches of the Au Sable River meet to form the Main Branch. The downtown area contains three stone churches, a Grand Union Family Market, Feeks Pharmacy, Aubuchon Hardware, a Citizens Bank, a U.S. Post Office (zip code 12912), offices for the Towns of Jay and Black Brook, several restaurants, and other establishments. Of historic interest is the Graves Mansion.
