Small man-made lake created over a century ago to provide water for the Tahawus mining operation downstream. Over the years, like many of the mountain lakes in this area, it has been filling in with silt. While a picture I have taken from the summit of Algonquin in 1974 shows a distinct lake, today Flowed Lands is little more than a large wet area. In another few years it will be little more than a marsh.
