The Coronation Bridge on Teesta River (Bagh Pool/Sevoke Bridge), West Bengal,India is famous for its architechture.It has now become a tourist attraction.It was constructed by Gamon India.Its foundation was laid in 1937 by Anderson(governor of bengal)& took 8 long yrs to construct & was finally inaugurated during the coronation of king George V in 1941.Thus it was named to commemorate the Coronation of King George V.

  • The bridge was built in 1941 to mark the coronation of George VI. The foundation stone was laid by John Anderson the then Governor of Bengal. As he was in office from 1932 - 1937 it would ahve been impossible to have laid the foundation stone any earlier than this! Also George V was crowned in 1911 not 1910! I think the original writer has taken the facts about Coronation Bridge in New Zealand and confused them with the bridge over the Teesta!
  • Actually architecture was really amazing as no vertical pillar to support only arch supports the entire bridge
