Chagai is a sub tehsil of district Chagai ,the name of the district is referred to this place,the meaning of Chagai is the place of well,but now the traditional wells remain no more they have been replaced by the modern technology of tube wells or samarsebals though expensive but required being more rapid to irrigate.the afghan refugees have settled here in large number which is good for trade but has many reverse side effects like the activities of human and drug trafficking are increasing.
