Maha Bodhi Temple complex (also written as Mahabodhi). This temple complex is considered the holiest place in Buddhism because it includes the Bodhi tree (likely a descendent of the original specimen) underneath which Buddha gained enlightenment.

It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

  • We visited this Mahabodhi Mahavihar Temple on 3rd of Janwary 2009 and like it very much wish to visit again because we missed manyn places to visit in lack of knowledge.

  • It's really a wonderful place to visit. Not only the people of India but Japan, Thailand, SriLanka, Malaysia other countries visit this holy place. I visited this place as part of NCC camp beside Falgu river and really enjoyed it.
