Between 1908 and the first world war, Kaiser Wilhelm II spent his summers at Achilleion Palace (Corfu Greece). His favourite trip was to the village of Pelekas (12 km from Corfu Town) to watch the sunset. A lookout point on a rock pinnacle is still known today as "Kaiser's Throne" from where you have a superb view of the center of the island spread out below.
