This is the oldest public park in Umeå, and is a popular place for recreation and relaxation for both locals and visitors. It was founded in 1865. The park is named after General Georg Carl von Döbeln, who led the Swedish army to victory in the last war to be fought on Swedish soil. The park contains a bust of the celebrated composer Wilhelm Peterson-Berger. This was created by sculptor David Wretling. Since 1920, there is a large stage in the middle of the park for the cultural events.
