Azabu Kokubisui-onsen Take-no-Yu (Tokyo)

Japan / Tokio / Tokyo / Minami-Azabu 1-chome, 15-12
 bathhouse, onsen

Extremely basic, Take no Yu (taking the ground floor of an apartment house) is hard to distinguish from an old-fashioned sento until you take a dip in the onsen, with its brownish mineral-rich water.

The washing stools are sooo low, yet otherwise everything's OK. The bath itself is big enough to accommodate perhaps 7 persons stretching at leisure, or about a dozen of people in politely crouched positions :) It has jet massage and a bubble bath device, too, and is adorned with a big picture... no, not of Mt.Fuji, but of a sail-ship - the Nippon Maru, as far as I could guess.

In 2011, the place was renovated; it now looks cleaner (it always was clean yet the new attire makes it look as clean as a surgery room), the showerheads are new as are the stools (but they are still quite low). There are new cabinets in the dressing room, and etc.

Bring your own towel, soap and etc., or buy those at the counter. The hair dryer in the dressing room is coin-operated, so prepare a 100-yen coin for it.

A massage chair and a blood pressure meter in the lobby. Next door is a launderette with automatic washing machines so you can combine your washing and bathing.
