The Dutch War Cemetery on the Grebbeberg hill, east of Rhenen, is the last resting place for more than 400 Dutch soldiers who died during the fights on the Grebbeberg, in May 1940.
In the Second World War this was also the cemetery for German soldiers who died during this fight. After the war these graves were replaced to the German War Cemetery in Ysselsteyn.
The Grebbeberg War Cemetery was and sometimes it still is used to bring Dutch War Graves together from other places. Nowadays there are more than 800 graves on this cemetery.
