  I'm Bob Mestrez. I was an Airman 1st and worked in this facility from the day it opened until my discharge in July, 1969. I taught in the classroom, in the field for parachute training and para-sail and was in administration under our OIC, Capt. Hugh F. Mulligan. I lived in the Hospital barracks, was involved in base sporting activities and in fact, met my wife while stationed there. She was a military brat, her Dad MSGT Dick Arbogast. Those were great years. I went on the use the GI bill for college, went into the Navy flight training program at Pensacola, Fl. in 1974 and retired from the Navy in 1994.
