Nawada is an district in the state of Bihar. The district headquarters are located at Nawada. The district occupies an area of 2492 km² and has a population of 1,809,425 (2001 census). It is situated 24.31 east and 25.7 west latitude and 85.17 and 86.3 longitude.

Nawada is a conjugation of natural seen and scenery with many panoramic views. Nalanda which is matchlessly unique for its glorious past is in the north . Hajaribagh a well-known magically wonderful spot of parks and natural beauty is in the south . Giridih a beautiful holly place is in its east. Gaya an International tourist place is in its west. In fact Geographically Nawada is surrounded by the places which one of greatly historical and geographical importance.

The newly born district has fourteen blocks: (i) Nawada (ii) Hisua (iii) Govindpur (iv) Rajauli (v) Pakriwarama (vi)Warisaligunj (vii) Kawakole (vii) Narhat (ix) Roh (x) sirdala (xi) Akwarpur (xii) Kashichak (xiii)Meskaur (xiv) Nardigunj

Warisaligunj is a big village in Nawada district. The place takes its name after Mr. Warsely a Deputy Magistrate of Nawada. It is the centre of a large sugarscane growing area and has the possibillity of maintaining a sugar mill. The place has local importance for trade.

Hisua, a town under Nawada district situated on the right bank of the river Tilaya on the Gaya - Nawada Road nine miles from Nawada and 27 miles from Gaya town. It has a considerable reputation for the manufacturer of ornamental pottery. It has some commercial importance and has a Railway station called Tilaya on the South Bihar Railway . A fair is hailed here on fagun Shiwratri day . Hisua is a growing township. And truly every blocks has been colored with historical facts and figure.

Head quarter’s town of the district of the same name . It is divided into two blocks by river Khuri the portion on the left bank being the older while that on the right bank is modern and contains the public office, Jail, Hospital, dispensary Picture Hall, Station , Stadium, School & Colleges etc. Since the opening of the south Bihar railway on which it is a station . Nawada has been growing into an important trade centre nearly one mile north of Nawada adjacent to the road running from Nawada to Bihar known as Nawada - Patna Road there are a handsome Jain temple standing . The temple reminds one of the great jain influence . For jain and Budhist one of International Importance Gonawan Jee or other Jain temples are visited by native as well as forgein pilgrims.
