Lateran chapter monks were invited to Antakalnis in 1625 and they were settled in the wooden monatery building in 1638 11 30. Unfortunally, the monastery burned down in the middle of the 17th century. The current monastery building was began to construct in 1676. It was closed by russian administration in 1864.
