Dingyuan County is a county in Chuzhou prefecture, Anhui Province. Area of the county is approximately 2891 km2, population 910,000. It is one of the most populated and big county in Anhui.
The county is famous as the birth place of Lu Su (172 - 217) and Qi Jiguang (1528-1588). Lu Su was an advisor for the Kingdom of Wu during the Three Kingdoms era of China. Qi Jiguang was a Chinese military general and national hero during the Ming Dynasty. He was best remembered for his courage and leadership in the fight against Japanese pirates along the east coast of China, as well as his reinforcement work on the Great Wall of China.
