Historic Jeddah is stuated in the center of Jeddah city, history of the City dates back to pre-Islamic era but the turning point in its history was in the days of the Muslim Caliph Othman Bin Affan When he made Jeddah the port of Makkah Almukarramah in 647 AD.
Historic Jeddah is a unique example for traditional architecture in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the bank of red sea, it includes number of monuments, historic and cultural buildings, such as remnants of the old boundary wall, historic mosques(Othman Bin Affan ,Ashafiey ….. ect), Old quarters such as Almazloom, Asham, Albahar and Alyaman , The Old Souqs(Markets) of historic Jeddah Such as: ( Annada, Akhaskiyah, Al-Alawai, Assagha) In addition to a large number of existing cultural buildings like Naseef House , some of the cultural buildings are still in used.
In 2009 the historic Jeddah was nominated by Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities to be listed in UNESCO's World Heritage site & on Jun 21, 2014 the historic Jeddah inscribed on World Heritage List.
