This stone structure was built from the stones of Hale Piula. It served as a customs house during the whaling era. During the late 1800's, the building was badly damaged by an earthquake. When it was rebuilt, the county used it as a courthouse.
Today, the Lahaina Town Action Committee operates the Visitors Center here. The Center is open daily and has information and memorbilia available.
