Not Malaga Cove Intermediate anymore... It's a private school called Rolling Hills Preperatory School.

I attended Malaga Cove Elementary School from 1951-1960 (K-8). It was a wonderful place to grow up, and learn from fine teachers. Large expansive playing fields with no fences, and the ocean bluffs (surfing!) just across the street. Lots of elbow room then, not too many kids. A very friendly community too. Those were kinder, gentler times!

I went there too, 1971-1973. Beautiful location, but it certainly was not a kind nor gentle experience. In the mid 1990s I drove by there and found it was had become a branch of the prep school near where I was living at the time (Nishi Yamato Gakuin)

I went there in the 67-68 school year. As Cap'n Bob states it was a great place. Being from AZ the openers was helpful in my transition. I was really amazed that the ocean was right across the street. I too took a trip back to show my kids some of my past and was deterred that it was no longer the intermediate school I knew. Progress it sucks sometimes. I met some really great people there Blair Brown, Stephanie Barna, Chris Wideman. Thanks for the memories

Attended Malaga Cove School (1941-1948) with vivid memories of a 2nd grade class of only 22 students. By eighth grade graduation in 1948, we were still a group of only 22. While there we flourished, waited out WWII, worked after school on Junior Red Cross projects for returning wounded, as well as getting our lessons in a beautiful spot. Great memories of our bi-weekly class walks up the hill to Palos Verdes Library to see Miss Lillian McMillan show the latest new books which we quickly checked out. Carrying our newly borrowed books, we make the downhill walk back to Malaga Cove School. and made the downhill walk back to our classroom. After college I returned to PV Library to work a summer with Miss McMillan. Beautiful part of town and a great time to be young there. NRMD

I attended Malaga Cove Intermediate School and graduated from the 8th grade in 1968. It was a very special school - beautiful campus, warm and caring teachers, and great friends. I feel very fortunate to have attended Valmonte Elementary, Malaga Cove, and PV High School. Kathy Krokus Long

I attended Malaga Cove School 1964-1966. I met my life long friend Sandy Lamos there. I will never forget the view at recess, and walking to the beach for PE when the Santa Anas were intolerable. I countded the minutes to be released from algebra class on the tower (I'm now a scientist, ha!). I've visited frequently over the years, walking the beautiful grounds and staging our trips tomthe beach from the scool parking lot. The tansformation to prep school and school district digs were heartbraking. ~ Carol Yez
