  • The "Plaza de Toros" of Comala is where the traditional "Fiestas Charrotaurinas Guadalupanas" are celbrated every December from December 1st to the 12th.. They are kicked off usually on the last Friday on November with a "Cabalgata" where locals ride their horses and or vehicles from the town square (Plaza) throughout the town to the beat of the "Banda" music and ejoyment of the traditional drink "Ponche". Originally, only men on horse back were parts of the cabalgatas. Today, menn, women and children take part in the cabalgata, either on horse back or in a motor vehicle. The Cabalgata is headed by the "Mojigangos" dancers. The "mojigangos" are giant male and female manequins made of bamboos and newspaper. A couple of locals will wear these manequins and dance throughout the parade. Throughout the fiestas, the plaza will host the bullriding show and some well known Mexican artists and or groups will perform. Adjacent to the plaza, will be the "Terrazas" and "Palenque". The Terraza's will have live music and enetertainment as well as some of the traditional "Botanas". The "Palenque" will host the cock fights and performances by well known Mexican artists. As you can see, "The Plaza de Toros" is a major attraction during these holidays and is a must to visit if you happen to be in town during these days.. Nos vemos por ahi vale!!
