Historical building, symbolic of San Juan del Río, in process of rescue and restoration. This building was constructed in order to collect de Church Taxes, of wich de “Tithe” was the most prominent. At the main entrance gate still shows a sign that reads: "COLECTURIA DE DIEZMOS”(Collection of Tithe) and dating from the mid-eighteenth century, ie 20 or 30 years after construction of the main temples: the Temple and the Church of Natives of which were completed in the third decade of 1700.
