Operational from 1971 through 2013, the Fawley Power Station was an oil-fired power station last operated by NPower as a surge demand facility, coming online during times of peak demand but otherwise remaining offline. The facility was formally closed by NPower in March of 2013 and is presently undergoing a phased demolition process

  • 1,000NW, it was 2,000MW in my day! Though the last I heard was it could barely manage 500MW...
  • I recently went a tour at Fawley for my science A Level, and throughly enjoyed the trip. I leart lots of new things about power, electricity, coal and the basic running of a power station. They are very well functioned and are very careful in the things they do. The trip involved seeing what measures they go through for health and safety, they are very safe in there.
