This lifting bridge was built between 1888 and 1890 over the (now) old Canal Brussels-Charleroi, close to the entrance of the underground canal of Godarville. This craftwork is only occasionally in action since navigation on the old canal ceased, when the "Plan Incliné de Ronquières" was opened in 1968.
