The village was abandoned in 1986 due to Chernobyl Disaster radiation.

Stricken from the Ukraine government official register of populated places on 14 November 1991. Status published on 1 January 1992 in "Ведомости Верховной Рады Украины", № 1, стр. 15.

Derkachi is a former village in Ukraine. It was located in Ovruch district, Zhytomyr region.
It was subordinated to the Kolesnyky village council. It was evicted due to radioactive contamination caused by the Chornobyl accident. The population in 1981 was 120 people. It was removed from the register on 14 November 1991 by the Zhytomyr Oblast Council.
