Bijasan Mata temple near Airport.

Bijasen Tekri: This hillock (tekri) has a small temple of Bijasen Mata, built in 1920. Mela is held here during Navaratri. This place is 2 minutes drive from the airport and about 9kms from the railway station. From this hill, one gets a magnificent view of the sunset and a breathtaking view of city at night. Perched on top of the hill was a guest house of the Holkars, now converted into a Border Security Force Arms Museum. Surrounding area is being developed into gardens with a small lake.

  • THIS IS A MY FAVOURITE TEMPL
  • When I was a child and staying in the Aerodrome colony (between 1960 to 1968), I could not only hear the bells of the temple but also could see the top (Kalash) of this temple. During those days, we (colony residents) used to reach Bijasan Tekadi by walking through Run-way of the Aerodrome without any interruption since it was a small aerodrome.
