  • I was a camper there in the summer of 1969. I remember being woken up to watch the Apollo 11 moon landing!
  • My parents, Arthur and Arlene Cohen, founded and operated Thunder Mountain Ranch, and it was my childhood home. It's touching to see former campers sharing their memories online. You can find the Facebook comments on my mom's page. Please keep sharing your stories and photos!
  • I was at TMR in '60 & '61, as a 10 & 11 year old. Wonderful place. I became quite a proficient rider, made useless leather objects, and ate a lot of midnight cold pizza. Oh -- and became addicted to Atomic Fireballs and Slim Jims that we'd get at the store in Bevans. I remember a "wrangler" named Jimmy Hunt, a fine-looking nurse, and a director named Kap, or Kappy -- kind of a gruff guy, probably from the wilds of Brooklyn. fb = Denver Mike
  • Hi Arlene, I was a counselor/wrangler in 65 and 66, then got drafted and went to Nam. Survived stupid war and live in Iowa. Great times at your camp and great experience for an Iowa farm kid. Hope this post finds you well. Paul Howes
  • I can't find the facebook page. I worked there in 1976 for the YCC. I loved Thunder Mountain!
