Old villages just on the Welsh side of the Landsker Line, the linguistic border between the Welsh and English speaking parts of Pembrokeshire. The villages have between a public house called the Cross Inn and the remains of the castle from which the villages takes their name can be found close to Hayscastle. Remains of RAF Hayscastle, wartime radar station can still be seen in the fields immediately adjoining the Hayscastle Cross. There is also a primary school, a church and a chapel.
