The official Seoul zero milestone

Similar to the Zero Point in front of the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris and the Zero Milestone in Washington, D.C., it is a monument that measures the distances from Seoul to various far-flung places.

The Dorowonpyo has stones pointing in 12 directions, each engraved with one of the animals of the Eastern zodiac - the rat, ox, tiger, rabbit, dragon, snake, horse, ram, monkey, rooster, dog and pig.

It also gives the distances to 53 regions in Korea and 64 major cities around the world including New York, Moscow, Jerusalem and Tokyo.
