This region reminds us the sad history of Bengali Hindu community, who have lost their everything in 1947 partition and came to this region as refugees. And started living here permanently. They adopted Assam as their new homeland, afterwards they became integrated as New Bengali speaking both Assamese & Bengali.“Jay Ai Ahom”.

  • history says settlers were employees(not refugees!) of the then ASSAM -BENGAL RAILWAYS,bulit by Britishers much before 1947 to transport tea coal oil etc from upper assam to ENGLAND via THE NEAREST CHITTAGONG seaport. So BRITISH RULERS IN THEIR OWN INTEREST LAID RAILWAY LINES THROUGH THE DENSE JUNGLES OF ASSAM .
