This house was built in 1928 to be as a residence for Sheikh Jum'a Bin Maktoom at Al-Shindagha area on the banks of Dubai Creek, adjacent to the house of Sheikh Saeed Bin Maktoom Al-Maktoom. The building enjoys a historical, social and aesthetical value in respect to allocated spaces, design and other elements. It has been selected to accommodate the traditional architecture, and to reflect the history and story of traditional architecture. The house includes a hall for introducing traditional architecture in Dubai as well as all other Emirates, in addition to halls for displaying: elements of traditional architecture, various traditional decorations, traditional construction tools and materials and two more to display the methods used in the traditional construction and architectural conservation. So the house becomes an educational, cultural, aesthetical, and historical landmark museum, telling the story of the civilization and revived history.
