Mount Kyllini (altitude 2086 m), is closely tied with the history of the god Hermes, who also worshiped in the Eurostini. In a cave Kyllini says Homeric hymn, dedicated to Argeifonti, ancient nymph, midwife, gave birth to the fruit of her love with the father of gods and men, Zeus. Little Hermes (Mercury), the first night of his birth, he escaped from the cradle and arrived in Thessaly, where he stole the cattle of Apollo. Then, arriving the next morning to Kyllene wanted to tour the surrounding area and thus arrived at Table Mountain located west over the present area of ​​Eurostini. There he discovered a turtle. Using the shell and the ribs of an ox, he created a lyre, the first in the myth constructed musical instrument in the world. This lyre seemed useful later to appease Apollo, who arrived in Kyllini angry, looking after his flock. The young god gave his brother a lyre in exchange for steers and Phoebus, spellbound by the discovery of melody produced forgot his anger and went away happy.
