Formerly a large office block, converted into private student accommodation in 2015. St Lawrence House is located next door to the Church of St John the Baptist, Bristol. The origins of this church go back to at least to the 12th century. The churches tower contains six bells and is the city’s only remaining mediaeval spire. St John’s was originally joined to the church of St Lawrence, which stood to the south and shared the same tower. St Lawrence was closed in 1580 and demolished soon after. St Lawrence House now stands on this site.
