This footbridge across the Canal du Centre is named in honour of George Lawrence Price, a Canadian soldier believed to be the last British Empire casualty of the Great War. Private Price was killed shortly after crossing the bridge that was the present bridge's predecessor at 10:58am, 2 minutes before the armistice that ended the war went into effect.
In 1991 the town erected this new footbridge and named it officially The Price Bridge.
