Georgina Point—one of the newest additions to Gulf Islands National Park Reserve—sits at the entrance to Active Pass. This popular day-use area, long managed by the Mayne Island Parks and Recreation Commission, provides spectacular views across the Strait of Georgia. It is one of the island's most treasured heritage places. It features a rocky beach and picnic facilities in addition to a concrete lighthouse built in 1969. A gorgeous
view of Active Pass is probably the best feature of that park.
