The Manila Ocean Park is a world-class marine theme park complex dedicated to create further awareness for the Philippine marine environment and has forged a partnership with the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), a global conservation organization.

MOP features a fusion concept bringing together in one complex an oceanarium, a mall, a restaurant row, a boutique hotel, open-water marine habitats, and multi-purpose function facilities.

Although still undergoing construction on several projects, the MOP is now open since March 1, 2008.

The MOP Oceanarium (8,000 square meters) is said to be bigger than Sentosa's Underwater World Oceanarium (6,000 square meters)in Singapore, in terms of floor area but its 25-meters underwater acrylic tunnel is far shorter than Sentosa's 83-meters with moving travellator.

The site of MOP used to be the site of the Manila Boardwalk.

  • i understand if there are people who were never felt satisfied after paying 400 to 450 entrance fee ... if you can't afford it then why waste your time blabber around the net that it's ugly nor unpleasant ... the technology and the place the deserve that kind of fee ... and it's an observatory for learning ... not taking pictures ... so please ... stop ranting garbage ideas ...
  • I'm hoping to see this place.... I recalled a similar place somewhere in Makati(Tetra Pet Shop)

  • I feel sorry for all the creatures inside.
  • It used to be nice to watch the sunset in the afternoon from the concrete dikes along the shore. Unfortunately, somebody from the government picked up this site to build this Chinese-own complex and blocked this beautiful view. Sad story.
  • I went there and saw sea animals.
