Thulamila is a flat topped hill with a very obvious slope. It is a Venda word which simply means "hill slope".
Thulamila Viewpoint provides a fantastic view over the northern parts of the park, but the road leading up to it is very rough and you will need a good off-road vehicle.
The area is relatively flat and sparse in terms of woodlands. The flat green terrain are not covered with grass but rather bush or shrubby type plants.
*Note: Thulamila Viewpoint must not be confused with Thulamela Archaeological Site in the far north at Pafuri.
