When erected in 1992, Mahaffey Hall was nicknamed "The Dirty South" due to its location at the very south end of campus and the prevalent reputation as a party hall. Over the years the nickname has fallen away with Linfield's acquisition of property to the south and increased security from Linfield's beloved Campus Security. In recent years, Linfield legends Brian Richardson and Jordan Jacobo charmed their Mahaffey neighbors with constant wit and wisdom.
