Ramnefjellsfossen (also, known as Utigardsfossen or Utigordsfossen)

Norway / Sogn og Fjordane / Stryn /

Ramnefjellsfossen (also, known as Utigardsfossen or Utigordsfossen) is a very tall waterfall spilling into the deceptively calm but beautiful lake called Lovatnet. Ramnefjellsfossen is unofficially listed as the third-highest waterfall in the world in several publications, including The Top Ten of Everything, edited by Russell Ash [ISBN 186 4661267, Dorling Kindersley Publishers, UK], among others. On the other hand, The World Waterfall Database, which includes all minor and seasonal waterfalls, lists it as eleventh-tallest. The total drop is 818 m (2,685 feet) from five free-leaping cascades. Due to the small flow of water it is one of the few major waterfalls in Norway that has not been slated for hydroelectric usage.
