First mentioned in 1186. Its main attraction is the medieval Erdődy mansion surrounded by a huge park and now housing an agricultural institution for vocational training and counselling. Vép, a market town in older times, takes pride in its church dedicated to the Transfiguration of Our Lord and St. Andrew as well as in its several protected historic statues: Immaculata, Trinity, St. Wendel, St. John of Nepomuk. Population: abt. 3800.
