A restored windmill similar to the numerous windmills which would have been found around the levels & ridges throughout mid-Somerset (both for drainage & conventional grinding purposes).
This one at Aston is open to the public fairly extensively during the summer months, when the sails can be seen in action and the internal mechanisms operating. It was restored over time by a band of committed volunteers. Details of opening times are displayed at the site or via TICs, etc.
