Fono is one of the smallest islands in Chuuk State. It has a population of about five hundred (500). This island turned to be a constitutional government during the Mayor, Itamichy Jack denure of office. Mr. Jack was the first mayor of Fono. First we were under Weno administration but due to his effort with the support of his traditional chiefs we seceeded.
