Currently operating Lavriv SAINT Onufriy monastery was founded in the middle of XIII century in the Lavriv. According to legend, the founder of the monastery was Prince Laurel, mentioned in the charter of Prince Lev Danilovich in 1292. Historians believe that Igor Mytsko, Laurel - monastic name of Grand Duke of Lithuania (1264-1268) Voyshelka (Vaišvilkas) that in 1255-1257 he was a monk in the Savior Transfiguration Monastery and in the Onufrievsky in the Lavriv.
