Town and county in Inner Mongolia. Situated in central Inner Mongolia and 40 km north away from Hohhot, it enjoys green mountains in the south and vast grasslands in the north. The county has 4885 km of land area and 18 towns/townships, 129 administrative villages (or villager commissions) and 970 natural villages under its jurisdiction. It has a population of 171,000, of which 144,000 are farmers. The county has 2.16 million acres of arable land and 1.83 million acres has been planted, among which 700,000 acres was planted with potatoes, agricultural and animal husbandry is the main township industry.
