Gabarone dam receives water that is pumped all the way from Francistown in the north. Without the pipeline Gabarone could not exist. The pipe material varies according to distancce from the pump station. Three different materials are used according to the pressure at that section. The materials are concrete, Fiberglass and steel. During the construction of the pipe Rocla Concrete and Corning established factories in Gaborone to supply pipes.
