The village was abandoned in 1986 due to Chernobyl Disaster radiation.

The village of Zhurba was evicted due to radioactive contamination caused by the Chornobyl accident and was removed from the register on 14 November 1991 by the Zhytomyr Regional Council.

Former village of Ovruch district, Zhytomyr region, Ukraine, subordinated to Pereizd village council. The population in 1981 was 170 people.
