Rare Grumman F9F-8 Cougar mounted on a stick outside Brainerd Lakes Regional Airport. The Grumman F9F series is better known as the Panther. The final "-8" variants were given a swept wing and dubbed "Cougars" in keeping with the Grumman cat tradition of fighter nicknames. This particular Cougar is rather fancifully painted up in non-Standard USMC markings. USN Bureau of Aeronautics number is unknown.
