  • The Turf was an incredible skate park. I'm Still skating at 45. Anyone know if Oz is still skating?
  • Turf was the place to be in Milwaukee when skateboarding hit the map in the mid-late eighties strong. If you were a young skater, you were lucky just to get to go and watch at this place. It was awesome. Back when boards had tails and noses! I used to rock a Danny Way pro model. Still have my membership card, funny how time flys!
  • The Turf was the best, at that time it was the only real skate park around. Just about every weekend would drive from Manitowoc to skate the Turf. I would spend countless hours trying to ride “Big Red”, the nine foot red half-pipe that sat outside; just west of the building. What a great time…
  • My parents used to drive us down to the Turf from Appleton. I can't believe the Turf just sits there, and is filled in with gravel...what a waste. I still watch the old "Streets of Fire" skate vid, and they plugged the Turf. With skateboarding as big as it is, someone should buy the turf and exhume those sweet bowls. I am 32, still skate, and I also have my turf membership card.
  • Wow! My home away from home. Hope in my next life i can re-live those days. Remember skating w/Hawk there. Home of Big Al Partenen! Remember learning hand rails with him one night. It would be awesome to see it re-open a 3rd time......
