This originally was the entrance gate to Zhongshan Hall. In all the three entrance gate way was displayed 72 halberts (A kind of spear on a wooden handle) in two wooden frameworks. But during the Eight-Nation Alliance in 1900 they were all taken. When the park was being built in 1924, the entrance gate was changed to a hall, now it is the conference room for the Beijing government officials.
