  • I think that the prison warders at Zonderwater prison is careless and neglegent, the reason why i say this is because my husband was in Zonderwater prison medium b and he suffered a heart attack or so they claimed and he died, he was lying on his cell bed from 2pm untill the next morning before any of the prison officials actually took note that the prisoners were trying to get their attention to alert them that someone was suffering a heart attack. If they just took the time my husband could have been alive today and he would have been a free man because he only had one month left to serve out his sentence. He was not even a criminal he was framed and then everybody praises Zonderwater Prison for what ! i wonder... my kids now have to grow up without their dad. To think that he went in there a healthy man and came out all cut up and stitched up like some animal, it really is disgusting how you guys treat human beings. And for the record his name was Mohammed Isaacs, he worken in the kitchen as a cook. A very sweet, kind and loving man. The Zonderwater Correctional Services SUCK BIG TIME !

  • I will like to comment on the story of offender Mohammed Isaacs.he was a nice guy to u lady but what he was doing behind those doors after they hav been locked up u dont know.Let me tell u this u might be framed for a crime u di not commit but when u get there u change.Can u blv me if i can say ur husband was one of the gangsters,but in front of u when u visit him will pretent to be a gu someone,so you better ask before u can open ur month.Dont blame prison officials,ruther blame him for hi deeds
  • HI I was wondering if you can help me please I am looking for someone who was sent to jail in 1998 for raping and sexually assaulting 11 girls his name is Jan Hedrick vermark at that time he was 48 years old and was sentence to Modderbee prison for 48 years in jail. He will be 63 this year. I think he was also transfer to zonderwater prison? If you can’t help me can you give me a number or email addresses were some one can help me.   • Jan Hendrik Vermaak was not at Modderbee Prison but Pretoria Central Prison during 2000. Serving his time either still there or Zonderwater.

  • I spent 8 months in "E" Camp as a political detainee. As I was not considered a regular prisoner - I was somewhat shielded from the general population. Yes, I was one of those who worked feverishly to build the fabulous rugby field opposite "Kaffir" Du Preez's office. Whenever he singled out any prisoner on the parade ground he would shout out: "Daai Man!" His robust voice would instill fear into the regular prisoners. "Bos Bok was the only other prisoner he would call out by nickname. Whenever he wanted to see me he would shout out my then a Muslim Name: "Sharif Shah-Bilal" in full. When the commissioner of Prisons paid a visit to the camp - he demanded to know what I was doing amongst the general population as he was aware of the fact that I was a political detainee. Once again - I was isolated from the work crews. Even during brief periods of isolation - I was not charged - "Klaar Aan" but placed in isolation for my own protection - whatever that meant.
